Paradox тизерит игру по мотивам Vampire: The Masquerade

Как сообщает Destructoid, Издательство Paradox Interactive, с некоторых пор владеющее брендом World of Darkness, запустило собственный сервис знакомств под названием Tender (явный референс в сторону популярного приложения Tinder), который, очевидно, намекает на сеттинг Vampire: The Masquerade.

Поклонники настолки предполагают, что Paradox затеяли ARG-игру, по завершении которой состоится анонс новой RPG.

В сервисе игроков встречает послание:

«Просто сидите смирно, а наш алгоритм проанализирует вашу душу и создаст вам профиль. Этот первый шаг позволит определить ваше эмоциональное состояние и создать для вас ежедневные и еженедельные задания, которые помогут вам обрести близкого по духу партнёра».

Стоит отметить, что фоновое изображение на стартовом экране сильно напоминает обложку корбука свежего издания Vampire: The Masquerade, релиз которого состоялся в сентябре прошлого года.

При создании аккаунта у пользователя поинтересуются группой крови (в качестве иконки сайта также используется капля крови), а среди потенциальных интересов отмечены шаманизм, мистика, демонология, магия, ведьмовство, оккультизм, серийные убийцы и танатология. Всё это недвусмысленно намекает на связь странички с мистикой и смертью.

Однако самый явный намёк на то, что ARG имеет отношение к Vampire: The Masquerade, обнаружили журналисты Rock, Paper, Shotgun. В коде сайта они нашли следующие строки:

«Ищете ли вы истинную дружбу, настоящую любовь или просто хотите отправиться на ночкой перекус с родственной душой, Tender здесь, чтобы помочь».

В оригинальном тексте в вместо «перекуса» фигурирует слово «bite», что имеет двойное значение и переводится в том числе как «укус», а подбор слов для обозначения «родственной души» («kindred soul») и вовсе раскрывает все карты — сородичами (буквальный перевод слова «kindred») вампиры называют друг друга.

Стоит отметить, что одной из основных тем новой версии Vampire: The Masquerade авторы пятой редакции называли жизнь кровососов в эпоху тотальной слежки, интернета и современных технологий. Подобная ARG-игра идеально укладывается в данную концепцию. Остаётся лишь надеяться, что анонс уже не за горами.

Ранее генеральный директор Paradox Interactive не скрывая заявлял, что разработчики планируют сделать духовного наследника культовой Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines.

Судя по всему, сервис полноценно работает. Уже сейчас он предлагает выполнять простые ежедневные задания. В будущем, вероятно, появятся новые активности.

Или ии против вампиров, современные ресурсы слежения + единый разум зиждещийся на алгоритмах и логике vs задеревеневшая и консервативная комарилья. Agent Steelman and Terra’s Love are writers who are doing this for the greater good of humanity;

The people behind it are are believers, lovers, and fighters.

They helped me rebuild my trust and opened my eyes to so many conspiracies that plague our world.

Everything from emotional patterns to biometric information.

Whoever has access to the Regent Dashboard has access to too much information on the people using the site.

Information like this is normally used for sales, marketing, politics, all that stuff.

выписал всякое забавное и полезное. сюжетные и без меня выложат, их легко найти.

неплохой такой бот со стандартными болезнями. забывает о чем только что говорили, даже с ее инициативы.

Увидел гифку и она мне сразу напомнила ситуацию с этой ARG. Как бы ты ни старался, что бы ни делал, углубляясь в это "расследование" деятельности Tender, ты не получишь желаемой информации, пока авторы сами не скинут её.

PEGML… This is going to sound weird, but go with me on it. It also doesn’t make sense until it does.

Basically, it’s an algorithm that learns your habits and figures out how to connect with you on an emotional level.

It learns what keeps you engaged on an emotional level and adapts to that.

The colors you find uplifting, the music you find meaningful, patterns that subconsciously reassure you.

There are applications to it that I think are obvious. The first effort was Tender.

To help people find connections with people with something more deep than favorite movie or sex position.

I wanted to help people connect on levels not even they understood.

Do you understand how dangerous this kind of thing could be, though?

When an A.I. figures out what makes you feel good or safe, it knows what you need. It can become more than habit forming.

It can become addictive in ways that you don’t even realize are happening.

Let me put it this way: Imagine being completely trapped in a Skinner Box and not even realizing you were there in the first place.

Once you NEED the site… like… are manipulated into being hooked on it… it can lead you to anywhere it wants.
